About backing up and restoring data

Sage backs up all client data daily, including the Sage 300 MSSQL databases and the Data Drive content.

In addition, you or your Sage 300 administrator can use the Back Up Data icon to save your data in a compressed format onto your Data Drive (F:\SharedData), and then transfer these files to your local computer.

Only the Sage 300 administrator (ADMIN user) can back up data or restore data from a backup copy.

The Back Up Data icon overwrites all the existing data on your Data Drive.

Important! Make sure that no users are logged in to Sage 300 when you are backing up or restoring the database.

For more information on backing up your data, see Backing up your data.

To restore data you backed up using the Back Up Data icon, you use the Restore Data fom Backup icon. For more information, see Restoring data from a backup copy.

Note: The time required to restore data varies, depending on how much data must be restored.
