Concepts - Ops Inquiry
Data queries
A query is a request for information from a database. Ops Inquiry lets you create reusable, Named Queries to which you can further apply field ranges to extract data for particular customers, inventory items, salespeople, etc. The program then applies the range to the query to produce a set of data records (results).
Query results can be further summarized and/or sorted, and you can modify queries until they produce the results that you want.
Multi User Note — Simultaneous Query Editing
If User A and User B both open the same query, the last saved changes overwrite prior changes. So, if User A makes changes and saves, and then User B makes changes and saves, the changes made by User A are lost.
If several people edit queries, they should make copies before changing and saving.
Installation vs. Activation
- Installation installs the program and copies the required program files onto the selected hard drive.
- Activation activates the program files for the specific database, creates the UNI data subfolder and copies the required data files.
