Tools in the Visual Process Flow Designer
The Visual Process Flow Designer includes tools for creating elements and for specifying what will happen when those elements are clicked.
Main Toolbar
The main toolbar is always available, and is located near the top left of the Visual Process Flow Designer. It has the following tools:
Tool | Description |
---|---|
Create shapes and lines. After you select this tool, you choose one of the available shapes and lines to create. You can add text to any shape, but not to lines. To add text to a shape, select the shape and then begin typing. |
Add images from the Visual Process Flow Designer image library. |
Add images from your computer. |
Create 'actions' to specify that when a certain element is clicked, other elements in the process flow will be shown or hidden. For more information, see Creating Actions to Show or Hide Elements. |
Undo the last change you made. |
After undoing a change, you can use this tool to redo that change. |
Tip: You can change the size of shapes and images by clicking and dragging the nodes (small squares) that appear at various points on the bounding box that surrounds a shape or image when you select it.
Element Toolbar
When you select an element, a toolbar appears adjacent to it. This element-specific toolbar has the following tools:
Tool | Description |
---|---|
If there is text in the element, you can use this tool to format that text. When you select this tool, the element toolbar changes to a set of tools specific to text, which let you:
To exit the text formatting toolbar, click the back button at the left end of the toolbar. |
Create a link that specifies the effect of clicking the element. For example, you can specify that clicking the element opens a Sage 300 screen. For more information, see Linking Visual Process Flows to Screens and Other Elements. |
Specify the fill color of the element. This tool is available only for shapes (not for lines or images). |
Specify the color and width of the element's border. The width of the border is specified using a slider below the color selection swatches. If you do not want the shape to have a border, reduce the width of the border to zero. |
Rotate the element counterclockwise in 45° increments. |
Create a copy of the element. When you do this, the newly created element is automatically selected. |
Open a menu with several options, including deleting the element, and moving the element forward or backward (so it appears behind or in front of other elements). |
Close the element toolbar and deselect the element. |
