Linking Visual Process Flows to Screens and Other Elements

When creating a custom process flow, you can create a link for each element that specifies the effect of clicking the element. For example, you can specify that clicking an element opens a Sage 300 screen.

For general information about customizing process flows, see Creating Custom Visual Process Flows.

To create a link in a visual process flow:

  1. In the Visual Process Flow Designer, select an element.

A toolbar appears adjacent to the element.

  2. Click the link Link button tool.

A screen appears that you use to set up the link.

  3. In the Type field, select a type of link, and then specify details for the link.

You can select the following types of link:

    • ERP Function. Opens a screen in Sage 300. More...

In the Function field, specify the screen to which you want to link the element:

      • If you know the Roto ID of the screen, enter it in the field.
      • To select a screen from a list, click the browse Browse button button to the right of the Function field.

Note: The Transaction and Key fields are not used in Sage 300.

    • Other Process. Opens another process flow.
    • Report. Opens a report (RPT) file.
    • Program. Runs a program (EXE) file.
    • Macro. Runs a macro (AVB) file.

Note: If you create a link for an element with text, the text is automatically underlined.

  4. Click OK.

Important! After adding links to a process flow, open the process flow and confirm that each link works correctly (for example, for a link to a Sage 300 screen, confirm that the link opens the correct screen).
