Loading Databases

You use the Database Load utility (DBLOAD.EXE or DBLOAD32.EXE) to load datasets into a database.

  • Create the target database and register it for use in the Sage 300 Database Setup program.
  • If you use Sage 300 Dashboards, ensure that all users have signed out of the Sage 300 Dashboard website. If any users are signed in, you cannot load a database.

    To sign out of the website properly, a user must click Logout. If a user does not click Logout, the system assumes the user is still signed in, even if they close Sage 300.

To load a database using the Database Load screen in Sage 300:

  1. 打开 Administrative Services > Database Load.
  2. In the Database field, select the target database.

    重要！Make sure you select the correct database. When you load a database, the Database Load utility deletes any existing tables in the target database, and replaces the existing database.

  3. In the Datasets Directory field, enter the folder containing the .DCT control file for the datasets you want to load.

    注释：The datasets containing the actual data are in a subfolder with the same name as the control file.

  4. In the Dataset field, specify the control file for the datasets you want to load.
  5. Confirm that the target database and the dataset control file are correct, and then click Load.

To load databases using the Database Load tool:

  1. On the Windows Start menu, click Sage 300 > Tools > Database Load.
  2. Enter your user ID and password, and then click OK.

    The Datasets screen appears.

  3. Click Set Directory.

    The Set Dataset Directory screen appears.

  4. Enter the folder containing the ".DCT" control file for the datasets you want to load, and then click OK.

    注释：The datasets containing the actual data are in a subfolder with the same name as the control file.

  5. On the Datasets screen, select a dataset to load.

    You can specify multiple datasets to load, though you must specify them one at a time. If you specify multiple datasets, they are loaded in the order you specify them (for example, a company and then a system dataset).

    注释：If you are loading datasets for a company database and a system database that are paired to each other, it does not matter which dataset you load first.

  6. Click Next.

    The Databases screen appears.

  7. Select the target database.

    重要！Make sure you select the correct database. When you load a database, the Database Load utility deletes any existing tables in the target database, and replaces the existing database.

  8. Click Next.

    The Load Data screen appears.

  9. Confirm that the target database and the dataset control file are correct.

    注释：If you are loading multiple datasets, you specify the next dataset to load by clicking Next, and then repeating the preceding steps, beginning at step 5.

  10. To load the selected datasets, click Finish.
  11. When loading is finished, click Cancel.
