Setting Up a Company Database for Sage 300

To set up a company database:

1. Cliquez sur Démarrer > Tous les programmes > Sage 300 > Database Setup.
2. Sign in using the administrator password.
3. Click New.

   The New Database dialog box appears.

4. For the Database ID, enter exactly the same case-sensitive code as the DSN you created for this company database.

   Remarque : You cannot change the database ID after you click Save.

5. Select the database format.
6. Select Company as the database category.
7. Select the system database ID you created earlier. (You cannot change the system ID, later.)
8. Click OK.

9. Depending on the format of the database you are setting up, fill in the fields on the Edit [database format] Database Profile dialog box, as follows:

   • To set up a Pervasive.SQL company database
     1. Enter the company name in the Description field, up to 60 characters. (The default is the company ID you entered in the previous dialog box.)
     2. Select the data source from the list, or accept the default. The data source name must be exactly the same case-sensitive code as the Database ID for this company.

   • To set up an Oracle company database

     In the Edit Oracle Database Profile dialog box:

     1. Enter a description (the default is the company ID you entered in the previous dialog box).
     2. Select the Oracle ODBC data source name in the Data Source field, or type the server name in the Server Name field for each company.

        You can use the same DSN for all Oracle systems and companies that are on the same server (provided you specified the user names accurately).

     3. Specify the user name (Login ID) and password for each company you created on the server.

   • To set up a Microsoft SQL Server company database

     In the Edit SQL Server Database Profile dialog box:

     1. Enter a Description (up to 60 characters).
     2. Use the Data Source field or the Server Name field to specify either a data source name or a server name.
     3. Enter a Login ID and a Password.
     4. Select a database name in the Database field.

   When you return to the Database Setup dialog box, the new company database is displayed in the list.

10. Fill in the fields on the Edit SQL Server Database Profile dialog box, as follows:

    1. Enter a Description (up to 60 characters).
    2. Use the Data Source field or the Server Name field to specify either a data source name or a server name.
    3. Enter a Login ID and a Password.
    4. Select a database name in the Database field.

11. Click Exit to leave Database Setup.
