O/E Pre-Transaction Credit Check Screen
The fields in this group display the following information:
- The customer's credit limit
- Pending balances in other Sage 300 programs
- Outstanding balances in other Sage 300 programs
- The customer's current order amount and prepayment amount
- Total outstanding balance
- The amount by which the total outstanding balance exceeds the credit limit
This option is available if you open the O/E Pre-Transaction Credit Check screen from the O/E Order Entry screen (not the O/E Invoice Entry or O/E Shipment entry screens). Select this option to place an order on hold.
If you want to specify the reason that an order is on hold, you can enter this information in the field beside the option on the O/E Order Entry screen.
If the customer account is on hold in Accounts Receivable, the order is automatically placed on hold.
You can enter and post an order that is on hold, but you cannot ship items or produce an invoice for the order until you do one of the following:
- Remove the hold for the customer in Accounts Receivable.
- Remove the hold for the order on the O/E Order Entry screen, and then post the order.
To view a list of the orders currently on hold, print the O/E Order Action report.
- Placing an order on hold automatically clears any serial numbers or lot numbers that have been allocated to the order quantity.
Overview
Use the O/E Pre-Transaction Credit Check screen to check the customer and national account credit limit, outstanding balance, account activity, and aged transactions, and to approve changes to the customer's credit.
You can manually use this screen any time before posting. Also, this screen appears automatically if you have set up Order Entry to check a customer's credit limit when you post a transaction, and you post a transaction that will put the customer over their credit limit. For more information, see About Posting Orders, Posting Invoices, and Posting Shipments.
