Set Security

You use the Ops Inquiry security settings to restrict user access to sensitive information such as item costs or other information on tabs that you don't want everyone to see.

You can set security to deny access to costs for the inquiry programs, and to deny access to specific tabs (and the information on them).

You must have Sage 300 administrator rights to set security.

Create security groups first:

  1. In the Administrative Services folder, select Security Groups.

  2. Select the Ops Inquiry application.
  3. Create a Group ID and Description.
  4. Select which Ops Inquiry programs this group has access to.
    • For Item Inquiry the group can include show cost access (Item Inquiry – Show Cost) or access without cost (Item Inquiry).
  5. Select the tabs the group does not have access to. The default is access to all tabs.
  6. Save the Security Group.

Set user authorizations after creating security groups:

  1. In the Administrative Services folder select User Authorizations.
