Signing On and Opening a Company
When you start Sage 300, the Open Company screen appears. You can also open this screen by clicking Open Company on the Sage 300 desktop.
You use the Open Company screen to:
- Open a company database.
Tip: If you already have a company open, you can close it and open a different company without exiting Sage 300. Before you can open a different company, you must close all screens that are open for the current company.
- Change your password.
- Switch user IDs (for example, to allow a supervisor to perform a restricted task at a workstation).
- Change the current session date.
To
- On the Sage 300 desktop, click File > Open Company.
The Open Company screen appears.
- Depending on the way your system is set up, enter your user ID in one of the following ways:
- In the User ID field, enter your Sage 300 user ID.
- If your company allows you to use your Windows user ID to sign on to Sage 300:
- Select the Windows Authentication option.
- In the User ID field, enter your Windows user ID.
- In the Domain field, enter your Windows Domain.
- If security is turned on for your Sage 300 system, enter your password.

- In the Company field, specify a company to open. To see a list of companies, click the Company field or press Alt + Down Arrow.
- If the session date is incorrect, enter a different date.
Note: The default session date is the Windows system date, unless you entered a date in the future the last time you signed on to Sage 300 — in that case, the future date is the default.
- Click OK.
