Performing Day End Processing
Perform Day End Processing as part of your daily routine, to keep your Inventory Control audit trail and reports up to date. You can perform Day End Processing as many times a day as you want.
Day End Processing performs several tasks, depending on the processing options you select in Inventory Control, Order Entry, and Accounts Receivable. For more information, see About Day End Processing .
Before you start
- Post all the transactions that you want to be processed. Any transactions you post while the I/C Day End Processing screen is running will not be processed if processing has already been completed for the transaction type.
To ensure that all the day's transactions are processed, post them before performing Day End Processing. Inventory Control processes receipts first, followed by adjustments, transfers, assemblies, and shipments.
- Back up your Order Entry data.
- Allow enough time to perform Day End Processing. The time it takes to complete Day End Processing varies according to the number of transactions you entered since the last time you performed Day End Processing.
Tip: We recommend that you perform Day End Processing when you do not need to use Sage 300 for other tasks. You might find it best to run it overnight.
To perform Day End Processing:
- Open Inventory Control > I/C Periodic Processing > Day End Processing.
- Click Process.
A message appears when processing is complete.
After performing Day End Processing
- Print the I/C Item Valuation report and compare it to the previously printed report.
- Print the I/C Posting Journals report for the Adjustments journal to check the actual posted adjustments.
- Print the O/E Posting Journals report for a record of the general ledger entries created for Order Entry transactions in Accounts Receivable.
- If it is the end of a commission period, print the O/E Salesperson Commission report, and then use the O/E Clear History screen to clear salesperson commission statistics.
- Print any other reports to update your records as needed.
- Modify options on the O/E Options screen as needed.
