Setting Up Inventory Control

A location is a place, such as a warehouse or retail store, where you keep some or all of your inventory. You use the I/C Locations screen to add locations in Inventory Control, and to assign items to particular locations.

You must set up at least one location in Inventory Control for your inventory items.

Before you can post a transaction for an item at a location, such as receive the item at the location, you must either:

If you want to override General Ledger account segments in Inventory Control transactions that include items stocked at a particular location, select the Override G/L Account Segments option on the Integration tab of the I/C Location screen, specify the segment to override, and specify the segment code to use to replace the segment.
