Comments
Enter comments about the kitting item. (Optional)
Item Description
Displays the description of the inventory item that is being used as the master kitting item.
Item Number
Enter the inventory item number you
want to use as the master kitting item, or click 
(the Finder button) and select the inventory item. (The Finder will only display inventory items that have the Kitting
Item option selected.)
Kitting Item
Displays the item number plus the kitting number.
If you want to view or change an existing kitting item, click (the Finder button) and select the kitting item.
Kitting Number
If you want to view an existing kitting item, click (the Finder button), select the kitting item, and then click the Apply button.
If you are creating a new kitting item, enter a unique number for the kitting item assembly, and then click the Apply button.
You could have several alternative sets of components for building the same item. For example, you might have black, red, or green binders in back-to-school kits. Each color is included in a separate kitting number.
Kitting Number Description
Displays the description of the kit with this number.
If you are creating a new kitting item, add a description for this kitting item.
The description is especially useful if there are alternative kits for the same item number. For example, this kitting number may contain green binders in the back-to-school kits.
Unit of Measure
Displays the stocking unit of measure for the kitting item.
Use as Default
Select this option to use this kitting number by default in Order Entry when you select the item.
Table
This table displays the component items that make up the kitting unit. If you want to add another component item, click Add Line to add a line to the table.
Component Item Number
Enter the number of the inventory item that is part of the kit, or click (the Finder button) and select the inventory item.
Description
Displays the description of the component item.
Quantity
Enter the number of this component item to include in the kit.
Unit Cost
Enter the cost of using this component item.
Unit of Measure
Displays the unit of measure for the component item, but you can change it.
Overview
Kitting items are collections of items that are priced and sold through Order Entry as a single item. They are often collected together at sale time—such as a particular computer, keyboard, and monitor combination, or a back-to-school binder, pencil case, and felt pen set.
The cost of a kit is based on each individual item in the kit. If the price is based on costs, it is determined by the cost of all the items together.
Important! You use the I/C Items screen to create the master kitting item and create each component item. Then, you assemble the kit contents using the I/C Kitting Items screen.
