I/C Weight Units of Measure Screen

Overview

You use the I/C Weight Units of Measure screen to add the different units that you use to measure the weight of items, such as pounds, tons, kilograms, and metric tons.

Note: On the Processing tab of I/C Options screen, you specify a default weight unit of measure. Order Entry module uses the default weight UOM to calculate the weight of orders. The default weight unit of measure has a conversion factor of 1. This screen lists the weight conversion factors for other weight UOMs.

When you add a weight unit of measure, you specify:

  • The weight unit of measure.
  • A description of the weight.
  • The weight conversion factor between the default weight unit of measure and the unit you are adding (as a multiple of the default weight unit of measure). The conversion factor for the default weight unit of measure is always 1.

Note: You can use fractions in weight conversion factors, even if you do not use fractional inventory quantities.

You assign weight units of measure to particular items on the Items tab of the I/C Items screen.
