About Inventory Control Processing Options
The table on this screen shows the weight units of measure set up for your company.
If you want to add a weight unit of measure, click Add Line to add a line to the table.
Displays the opposite calculation to the conversion factor. It provides a visual check on the conversion factor.
The following table shows examples when the default weight UOM is Pound.

Displays Yes if this weight unit of measure is the default. Otherwise, this column displays No.
The default weight unit of measure is specified on the Processing tab of I/C Options screen.
Type the factor for converting this weight unit to the default weight unit of measure.
For example, if “pound” is the default weight unit of measure, the conversion factor for “ton” would be 2,000.
You can use fractions in weight conversion factors even if you do not use fractional inventory quantities. For example, the factor to convert kilograms to pounds would be 2.2.
The conversion factor for the default weight unit of measure is always 1.
Type the weight unit of measure as you want it to appear on data entry screens. For example, lb or kg. You can enter the description in the next column.
Enter a description for the unit of measure, such as pound or kilogram.
Overview
You use the I/C Weight Units of Measure screen to add the different units that you use to measure the weight of items, such as pounds, tons, kilograms, and metric tons.
Note: On the Processing tab of I/C Options screen, you specify a default weight unit of measure. Order Entry module uses the default weight UOM to calculate the weight of orders. The default weight unit of measure has a conversion factor of 1. This screen lists the weight conversion factors for other weight UOMs.
When you add a weight unit of measure, you specify:
- The weight unit of measure.
- A description of the weight.

The weight conversion factor between the default weight unit of measure and the unit you are adding (as a multiple of the default weight unit of measure). The conversion factor for the default weight unit of measure is always 1.
Note: You can use fractions in weight conversion factors, even if you do not use fractional inventory quantities.
You assign weight units of measure to particular items on the Items tab of the I/C Items screen.
