Detail Revise Estimates Screen
Specify the category for which you want to change the estimate.
If you are changing the price of a fixed price project, do not specify a category.
You can specify only categories that are assigned to the project.
If the category you want to specify is not assigned to the project, you can assign it: click the Zoom button beside the Category field, and then select the category to assign to the project. On a standard project, post this revise estimate transaction, then enter a new revise estimate transaction for a resource that uses the category.
Enter a comment for the detail.
Specify the contract for which you want to change the estimate.
You can specify only contracts with a status of Open.
The program displays the description used for the resource as the default for the detail, but you can enter a different description.
Line numbers are assigned automatically, and you cannot change them.
You use line numbers to identify details you have entered.
Specify the project for which you want to change the estimate.
If the customer does not use your functional currency, this field displays the exchange rate for the project.
If the customer does not use your functional currency, this field displays the exchange rate date for the project.
If the customer does not use your functional currency, this field displays the exchange rate type for the project.
Specify the resource for which you want to change the estimate.
If you are changing the estimate for an existing project category (labor rate, labor percentage, overhead rate, overhead percentage, or cost plus percentage), or if you are adding a new category, do not specify a resource.
If the resource you want to specify is not assigned to the category, you can assign it: click the Zoom button beside the Resource field, and then select the resource to assign to the category.
This table displays current and revised information for the detail. For some fields you can change the information in the Revised column.
Both the information that is displayed and the information that you can change (in the Revised column) varies depending on the contract, project, category, and resource you specify. For example, if you specify a fixed price project, and do not specify a category or resource, the table displays a Fixed Price Amount field, where you can enter a revised fixed price for the project.
This column displays the estimated quantity, costs, revenue, and profit from the existing estimate.
It also displays the overhead and cost plus percentages.
Enter revised estimates for quantity, unit of measure, and unit cost (or extended cost) for the category or resource.
If you are revising a category on a standard project, enter the labor rate (or percentage), overhead rate (or percentage), the cost plus percentage (on a cost plus project) or the markup percentage (on a fixed price project that uses a completed project or project percentage complete accounting method).
For time and materials projects, you can enter revised estimates for extended cost, billing rate, and billing amount, and you can enter or change the A/R item number.
For cost plus projects, you can enter a revised estimate for the cost plus percentage.
When you enter a revised estimate, other information in the Revised column is automatically recalculated, such as extended cost (or unit cost), total cost, total revenue, and total profit.
