If you use Sage 300 Project and Job Costing, you should restrict the flow of information that is passed to Sage 300 Project and Job Costing when you post PJC transactions that use optional fields.
For optional field values to pass from payroll to Sage 300 Project and Job Costing, use the Optional Fields setup window to:
- Define optional fields for Transaction PJC Details. This is described further in Payroll Processing versus Transactions.
- Specify the accounts for which values for an optional field can be passed to Sage 300 Project and Job Costing.
When you create PJC transactions in the payroll program, the program passes the optional field values used in a transaction to Sage 300 Project and Job Costing if:
- You selected the External Cost Transaction option on the Settings window (which you open from the Optional Fields window, by selecting Transaction PJC Details in the "Optional Fields For" field, and clicking the Settings button.), and
- The optional fields are the same as the External Cost Transaction optional fields defined in Sage 300 Project and Job Costing.
