Payroll menus

Using the File menu

The File menu displays at the upper left of most Sage 300 Payroll windows. Depending on the window, the File menu contains some or all of the following commands.

Command Desciption

Print

Prints the current report, list, or window. Use this command to print reports, lists, and windows.

For example:

  • If you are in a report dialog box, the command will print the report.
  • If you are in the Employees window, the command lets you print the Employee Information report.
  • If you are in the Payroll Options window, the command will print the Payroll Options report.

To change the print destination (for example, to print to a file, the printer or the screen), use the Print Destinations command from the File menu on the Company Desktop.

Print Setup

Selects a printer and sets printing options. Use this command to set up your printer. You can select the default printer or specify another from the list of installed printer names. To change the print destination (for example, to print to a file, the printer or the screen), use the Print Destinations command from the File menu on the Company Desktop.

Customize

Lets you hide or display fields on a window, depending on the user. Use the Customize command on the File menu of an open window to hide fields for users assigned to a UI Profile ID for that window. When these fields are hidden, data that would normally display in these fields cannot be printed.

For more information, see the topic on customizing user interfaces (UI Profile Maintenance) in the System Manager help.

Import

Imports the data records you specify from non-Sage 300 programs to Sage 300 Payroll.

Export

Exports the data records you specify from Sage 300 Payroll to non-Sage 300 programs.

Close

Closes the current window. You can close the current window by using any of these methods:

  • Click the Close button, or
  • Double-click the icon at the top right corner of the window, or
  • Select the File menu and the Close command.

If you are editing a record, the program may ask you whether you want to save your changes or cancel them.
