Using the Quarterly Wage Report

The Quarterly Wage function produces a quarterly wage data file. The file can then be submitted to tax authorities, by electronic means where permitted. The function does not produce a printed report on paper. Print the Quarterly Wage government report to provide quarterly wage reports for your individual taxing authorities.

Information on the report

Before you start

Review the specifications for producing quarterly wage data available from your local or state’s tax agency. The specifications will serve as an invaluable reference when using Sage 300 Payroll to produce your data reports.

To create the quarterly wage report, there are two main steps:

  1. Enter the Employee Supplemental Information (in the Payroll Employees window > Taxes tab, for each tax) to provide special employee information required by your state.
  2. Use the Quarterly Wage feature under Payroll Government Reports to produce a quarterly wage report.

To print the report

  1. From Government Reports, select Quarterly Wage.
  2. Enter the quarter and year for which to print the report.
  3. Enter the date the report is due.
  4. In the Tax Code field, enter or select the tax for which to print the report.
    • If you choose CASIT, then at the Report Type field that subsequently displays, choose Quarterly Wage or DE9C.
    • If you choose DE9C, before printing load the State of California’s "Quarterly Contribution Return and Report of Wages" pre-printed forms in your printer.
  5. Choose to sort the report by either Employee or Class.
  6. If you selected to sort by employee, in the From and To Employee Number fields, enter the range of employees on which to base the report.
  7. If you want to include the employees in a selection list, choose that selection list.
  8. If you selected to sort by class, choose the class to sort by (Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, or Class 4). Then enter the range of class codes in the From Class Code and To Class Code fields.
  9. Click Print.
  10. When finished, click Close.
