Employee Filing Status, Exemptions, and Other Information

From the employee's W-4 (or state equivalent) printed form, enter the information in the table of the employee's Tax Information window.

For example, in the case of USFIT (U.S. Federal Income Tax), the table entries include:

• Filing Status. Choose the employee’s filing status for the selected tax. Your selection at this field determines the withholding tables that are used for the employee.
• Exemptions from W-4. Type the number of exemptions to be applied when calculating this tax for the employee.

Since taxing authorities change their requirements from time to time,Sage 300 Payroll uses the current tax update to prompt you for the appropriate information about the employee.
