Allowing Serial and Lot Number Allocation for Quantity Ordered
You use the Inventory Control option Use the Qty Ordered Field in OE to allow allocation of serial numbers or lot numbers to order quantities.
If you select this option, users can allocate serial or lot numbers for quantities ordered on the O/E Order Entry and O/E Shipment Entry screens. (If you want users to allocate serial or lot numbers for quantities shipped, do not select this option.)
For more information about using this screen to allocate and generate serial and lot numbers, see O/E Serial/Lot Numbers Allocation/Generation Screen.
- If security is turned on for your system, you must have Inventory Control Setup Maintenance authorization to change the option for allocating numbers.
- Before making changes on the I/C Options screen, make sure that no other Inventory Control screens are open for your database on your computer or on any other computer on a network. If other I/C screens are open, or if other users are working with I/C data, you cannot change this option.
To allow allocation of serial and lot numbers from the Quantity Ordered field:
- Inventory Control > I/C Setup > Options.
- On the Serials tab, select the Use The Qty Ordered Field In OE For The Allocation Of Serial Numbers option.
- On the Lots tab, select the Use The Qty Ordered Field In OE For The Allocation Of Lot Numbers option.
- Click Save.
