About Deleting Account Sets
You can delete account sets one at a time using the Account Sets screen (the same screen you use to add account sets to Inventory Control).
You can also use the Delete Inactive Records screen in the I/C Periodic Processing folder to delete groups of inactive account sets.
Note: You cannot delete an account set if any item records are assigned to it. You must assign its item records to another account set, or delete the item records.
Setting Account Sets Inactive before Deletion
Before trying to delete an account set, it is a good idea to assign the Inactive status to the record, to ensure that no further items are assigned to it. You can then wait until the end of the fiscal or calendar year to delete it (depending on the method you use to accumulate item statistics).
You use the Account Sets screen to make account sets inactive.
Identifying Inactive Account Sets
Print the Account Sets report to identify inactive account sets. If an account set is inactive, the date it was made inactive appears on this report in the Inactive On field. See Printing the Account Sets Report for more information.
