License Manager

The License Manager screen appears during program installation, letting you enter serial numbers and activation codes for any new Sage 300 programs and LanPaks you are installing.

Subsequently, you can open the License Manager screen any time, to review or change license details. For more information, see Viewing or Updating Licenses Using the License Manager.

During installation, the program creates temporary license files (with serial number “000000000000”) for Sage 300 programs and LanPaks. Once you receive valid serial numbers and activation codes, you can enter them in the License Manager.

To add or change licensing information later, you can open the License Manager from the Sage 300 desktop. If you do not enter any LanPak information during installation, for example, you will need to enter it on the User tab of the License Manager screen before you can use Sage 300 programs.

The License Manager lets you:

  • View licensing information for your Sage 300 programs, including the number of users authorized under each LanPak license.
  • Enter serial numbers and activation codes for your Sage 300 programs and services.
  • When necessary, change the client ID to which your Sage 300 software is registered.

On the License Information tab, click the Change button, and then type the new number in the Client ID field.

When you next open the License Manager, the Client ID field will not be available, unless you click Change again.

  • When necessary, change the company name to which your Sage 300 software is registered.

For instance, you may need to change the company name after a merger.

To change the company name on the License Information tab, you click the Change button, and then type the new name in the Company field.

When you next open the License Manager, the Company field will not be available, unless you click Change again.

  • Note: Activation codes are awarded for serial numbers and company names used together. After you change the company name, the activation code will be marked Unauthorized. The license will remain valid, but you should apply for another activation code for the new company name.
