You use the I/C Segment Codes screen to set up valid segment codes that can be used in item numbers.
The segments and their lengths are set up on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen. If the Validate option for a segment is set to Yes, item numbers using that segment must use one the valid segment codes.
Note: Adding segment codes is optional, as is using them once you have entered them.
Before adding segment codes:
- Add segments on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen.
- Decide which codes to use for each segment. The number of characters used for the segment code cannot be more or less than the length specified for the segment.
The following table shows how you can set up segment codes for two segments:
