Users Screen
If this option is selected, the user cannot sign on to Sage 300. Only the administrator can clear this option.
This option is selected automatically for a user account if there have been failed attempts to sign on to the account, and the number of these failed attempts exceeds the number of failed attempts permitted for the database.
If this option is selected, the user cannot sign on to Sage 300. Only the administrator can clear this option.
Select this option to limit the user's access to Sage 300 to certain valid times.
When you select this option, additional fields become available, allowing you specify the days of the week and the hours that the user can sign on to Sage 300.
Specify one of the following account types to indicate how a user will use Sage 300:
- User. For users who will use any Sage 300 applications.
- Timecard. For users who will enter only their own timecard information.
In web screens, you can select only the Sage 300 authentication method (which specifies that users must sign on to Sage 300 with their Sage 300 user ID), because other authentication methods are not supported. However, for users who have been set up in desktop screens with one of the other authentication methods, this field displays the user's authentication method.
Enter the user's primary e-mail address.
Note: If you select the User receives e-mail from Sage with information relevant to job role option, this field is required.
Enter a second e-mail address for the user.
Specify the user's job role.
Note: If you select the User receives e-mail from Sage with information relevant to job role option, this field is required.
Specify the language in which the user's reports, screens, help, and messages are displayed and printed.
Enter a password for the user.
- After entering a password in this field, you must enter the same password in the Verify field.
- The options below the Password field allow you to specify various settings related to the user's password.
If you select this option, the user is not required to change their password periodically, even if global security settings for the database require that users change their passwords periodically.
Enter a phone number for the user.
Select this option to reserve one LanPak license exclusively for the user.
Reserving LanPak licenses reduces the total number of licenses that can be used by other users, because a reserved license can be used only by the user for whom it is reserved.
Note: This option cannot be imported. After importing user records, if any of the imported users needs a reserved LanPak license, you must manually select this option for each of those users.
If you select this option, only the administrator can change the user's password.
Enter a code of up to 8 characters to identify the user. The code can include letters and numbers, but must start with a letter.
If you select this option, the user is required to change the password for their account the next time they sign on to Sage 300.
Enter the name of the user, up to 60 characters.
If this option is selected, Sage occasionally sends the user e-mail messages with information relevant to their job role, such as tips and suggestions for using Sage 300 more effectively, or details about promotional offers.
Note: If you select this option, you must enter information in the Job Role and E-mail 1 fields.
After entering a password in the Password field, you must enter the same password in the Verify field.
For users who are set up with the Sage 300 authentication method, this field is not used. For users who are set up with one of the other authentication methods (which allow users to sign on to Sage 300 using their Windows user ID), this field displays the Windows domain for their Windows user ID.
Note: Users cannot sign on to web screens with a Windows user ID. However, if a user is set up in desktop screens with an authentication method that allows them to sign on with a Windows user ID, this field and the Windows User Name field display the information entered in desktop screens about their Windows user ID.
For users who are set up with the Sage 300 authentication method, this field is not used. For users who are set up with one of the other authentication methods (which allow users to sign on to Sage 300 using their Windows user ID), this field displays their Windows user ID.
