O/E Project and Job Costing Apply Details Screen
Click Apply by Amount to apply the prepayment amount to jobs proportionally, based on net extended price.
Your document includes two jobs: Job #1 (net extended price of $75.00) and Job #2 (net extended price of $25.00). You have a prepayment of $10.00.
If you click Apply by Amount, Order Entry applies the prepayment as follows:
- Job #1: $7.50
- Job #2: $2.50
Note: If you click Apply by Amount or Apply Top Down after manually entering or changing payment amounts, Order Entry overwrites the amounts you entered.
Click Apply Top Down to use the prepayment to fully pay for as many jobs as possible, beginning with the first job that is listed.
Your document includes four jobs, each with a net extended price of $20.00. You have a prepayment of $50.00.
If you click Apply Top Down, Order Entry applies the prepayment as follows:
- Job #1: $20.00
- Job #2: $20.00
- Job #3: $10.00
- Job #4: $0.00
Note: If you click Apply by Amount or Apply Top Down after manually entering or changing payment amounts, Order Entry overwrites the amounts you entered.
All the jobs for the document are listed in the table on this screen. The only field you can edit in the table is Applied Amount.
Overview
Use the O/E Project and Job Costing Apply Details screen to apply prepayments to job details.
Note: The prepayment amount on a job-related order can exceed the document total. However, the sum of the prepayment amounts for individual details must match the prepayment total.
You can apply prepayments in the following ways:
- Apply by Amount. Click this button to prorate payment amounts to all details.
- Apply Top Down. Click this button to do a "top-down" distribution, starting at the first job-related detail.
- Manually edit payment amounts. You can directly enter or change payment amounts for individual details.
Note: If you click Apply by Amount or Apply Top Down after manually entering or changing payment amounts, Order Entry overwrites the amounts you entered.
