About Importing and Exporting Accounts Receivable Records
If you have an accounts receivable system other than Sage 300, you may be able to transfer records from it directly into Sage 300 Accounts Receivable by importing them.
You can also export records from a Sage 300 Accounts Receivable database, edit them in a spreadsheet or other program to change codes, amounts, and other information, then import them into a new Accounts Receivable system you are setting up.
You can import and export the following Accounts Receivable records:
- Account sets
- Billing cycles
- Customer groups
- Customers
- Distribution codes
- Dunning messages
- Interest profiles
- Items
- National accounts
- Receipt types
- Recurring charges
- Salespersons
- Ship-to locations
- Terms codes
For examples, you can:
- Export customer records to a spreadsheet for statistical analysis.
- Export all customer records with the same account set to a spreadsheet, change their credit limits, then import them back into Accounts Receivable.
Tip: If you routinely make the same change to a large number of records, we recommend creating a macro to make the changes.
You can import and export data to different types of file, including:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access
- Comma Separated Values
- Continuous ASCII
- ODBC
- XML
