Adding, Editing, or Deleting UI Profiles

A UI profile allows you to customize screens by specifying which fields and controls appear on them. You can add UI profiles for most screens in Sage 300. Also, a single UI profile can be used to customize multiple screens.

To add a UI profile:

1. Sign on to Sage 300 as the ADMIN user.
2. Open a screen that you want to customize.
3. On the screen's File menu, click Customize.

   The Customize screen appears.

4. On the Customize screen, click the New button beside the Working Profile field.

   The UI Profile Maintenance screen appears.

5. On the UI Profile Maintenance screen:

   1. In the Profile ID field, enter a unique ID for the UI profile. (The profile ID can be up to 20 characters in length.)
   2. In the Profile Description field, enter a description for the UI profile.

   3. Click Add, and then click Close.

      The profile ID appears in the Working Profile field on the Customize screen.

6. On the Customize screen:

   1. Clear the check box for each field or control you want to hide.
   2. Click Save, and then click OK.
7. Click Close.

To edit a UI profile:

1. Open a screen that you have customized with a UI profile.
2. On the screen's File menu, click Customize.

   The Customize screen appears.

3. In the Working Profile field, enter the ID of the UI profile.
4. Clear the check box for each field or control you want to hide.
5. Click Save, and then click OK.

To delete a UI profile:

1. Open Administrative Services > Assign UI Profiles.
2. Select each line that assigns the UI profile to a user, and then click Delete. (You cannot delete a UI profile if it is assigned to any users.)
3. Click Close.
4. Open Administrative Services > UI Profile Maintenance.
5. In the Profile ID field, enter the ID of the UI profile.

   The table displays all the customizations specified in the UI profile.

6. Click Delete.
7. Click Close.

   The next time you open the UI Profile Maintenance screen, the deleted UI profile does not appear on the list.
