Connecting Bank Feeds

Bank feeds enable you to download transactions from your bank with the click of a button, and then automatically match those transactions to transactions in Sage 300. This makes bank reconciliation faster and easier, as well as more reliable because it prevents errors that could be created when manually entering transactions.

You can connect a bank feed for any bank account in Sage 300.

Note: If you have a bank code in Sage 300 that is not for a bank account (for example, a bank code for a credit card account), you can connect a bank feed for the bank code, but bank feed transactions may include irregularities.

To connect a bank feed:

  1. Open Bank Services > Bank Transactions > Reconcile E-Statements.

  2. In the Bank Code field, enter the code for the bank you are connecting to a bank feed.
  3. Click Connect Bank Feed.
  4. If this is the very first bank feed that has ever been connected in your Sage 300 system, you must enter an email address for bank feeds communications. More...

This email address is used to communicate information you may sometimes need to reactivate a bank feed. For example, your bank may deactivate a bank feed if it is not used for a period of time (the period of time may vary between banks). To reactivate your bank feed, you'll need to enter a code, and the code will be sent to the email address you enter.

Important! Take care when choosing and entering this email address. You enter it only once, and to change it you must contact Sage Support. Also, it is for your whole Sage 300 system (if you have multiple companies, this single email address is used for them all).

  5. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and click Get Started.
  6. Select your bank.
  7. Enter your banking credentials and select the account.

Note: If you change to a different account, you may have to re-enter your banking credentials.

  8. Choose a Start date for your historical transactions. The system will attempt to download historical transactions as of that date.
  9. Click Process.

Establishing the connection between Sage 300 and your bank may take some time, so you may not immediately be able to download transactions from the bank feed. Once the connection is established, you can download and then automatically reconcile transactions. For more information, see Reconciling E-Statements.
