From/To Item Number
Enter the range of item numbers for which you are creating adjustments. Type the same number in both fields to create an adjustment for one inventory item.
From/To Location
Enter the range of location codes for which you are creating adjustments. Type the same code in both fields to create adjustments for only one inventory location.
Adjustment (type)
Choose one of the following types of adjustments:

Total cost to zero for items with zero quantities.
This option sets the total cost to zero to match the quantity. Check your quantities to make sure they are zero before continuing.
This situation typically arises when quantities have been adjusted to zero as a result of a physical count (and the cost not adjusted), or when costs were entered incorrectly with shipments.
- Take a physical count to make sure that total quantities are zero. A zero cost can arise if a user specified cost wasn't entered properly on a receipt -- or if previous adjustments were entered incorrectly.

Total cost for items with non-zero quantities and zero total cost.
You can adjust the cost of items to:
- Standard cost
- Most recent cost (includes the tax)
- Last Unit cost (does not include the tax)
- User defined cost 1
- User defined cost 2
Cost to Use
If you choose the third type of adjustment (to add a total cost for items with non-zero quantities), you must also choose the type of cost to use for the adjustment:
- Standard cost
- Most recent cost (includes the tax)
- Last Unit cost (does not include the tax)
- User defined cost 1
- User defined cost 2
Overview
Use the I/C Process Adjustments screen to automatically:
- Write off the cost of items with zero quantities.
Zero quantities can appear after physical inventory counts -- or improperly entered adjustments.
- Write off the quantities of items with zero cost.
Zero costs can arise if user-specified costs are not entered properly on shipments or receipts, or if adjustments are entered incorrectly.
- Adjust the total costs of items with non-zero quantities and zero total cost to a new cost.
Which
screen should I use to process adjustments?
- Use the I/C Adjustments Screen
to change item costs and quantities as needed.
- To update the quantity on hand at a location to agree with your physical inventory count.
- To return goods to a vendor after you have completed the receipt.
- To remove additional cost remaining on a receipt when you return the total quantity received for an item at a location to the vendor.

- Use the Post Inventory Reconciliation screen
to post the counts and costs that you entered in the Physical Inventory
Quantities screen. The program creates adjustment transactions when you
post inventory reconciliations.

Can
I adjust material usage for a project?
If you use Project and Job Costing, material adjustment transactions created by Project and Job Costing will appear in Inventory Control showing adjustments to particular contracts, projects, job categories and overhead accounts.
Note: You cannot adjust materials for jobs from the Inventory Control program.
