Download Exchange Rates Using the GetRates Macro

Run the GetRates Macro to retrieve exchange rates from the Pacific Exchange Rate Service into Excel 2003 or 2007, and update the currency rate tables in Common Services.

To run the GetRates macro:

1. On the Sage 300 Desktop, click Macro > Run.

   The Run Macro screen appears.

2. In the Files of Type field, select VBA Macro (if this is not already selected).
3. Select GetRates.avb from the list of available macros.

   As the latest rates load into Excel, the Excel status bar indicates that the macro is retrieving currency rates. When retrieval is finished, it shows that a currency rate report is being printed (to Print Preview).

4. Minimize Excel to display and view the report.
5. To return to the company desktop, close the print preview. (This also closes the exchange rates spreadsheet.)

   The updated rates are now ready for use by Sage 300 programs.

6. To check that the most recent rates were imported successfully, open the Currency Rates dialog box, and use the Finder to choose a rate table.

   The updated rates appear in the grid.

7. Close Excel if you are not using it for other tasks.
