Posting an Inventory Reconciliation
When you post an inventory reconciliation, the program creates adjustment transactions for any discrepancies between your physical inventory count and the quantities tracked by Inventory Control. Only items that have the Ready to post status will be posted.

Print the I/C Inventory Reconciliation Report and then check that the counts (and other details you entered) are accurate for each location. In addition to the quantities and costs, this report shows the quantity and cost variances that the program will post as adjustments the next time you post an inventory reconciliation. (Optional)
To post an inventory reconciliation:
-
Inventory Control > I/C Physical Inventory > Post Inventory Reconciliation.
- Specify the range of locations for which you want to post inventory reconciliation adjustments.
- Enter the transaction date and posting date (which controls the fiscal year and period to which the transaction will be posted).
- Type a reconciliation number.
- (Optional) Type a description and reference.
- Click Post.
- When you see the Post Inventory Reconciliation complete message, close the information box.

- Confirm that all items that had the Ready to Post status were posted. To do this, either:
- Review the I/C Physical Inventory Quantities screen. If any items were not posted, the status of each item indicates the reason it was not posted.
- Print and review the I/C Inventory Reconciliation report.
The report lists all items that were not posted, including items with the On hold posting status. Items that were posted successfully do not appear on the report
Note: If all items were posted, the I/C Inventory Reconciliation report is blank.
See Inventory Reconciliation Errors for information about resolving any errors.
- If needed, run Day End Processing to update the costing and statistical data. (This is not necessary if you cost items during posting.)
- Print the Adjustments Posting Journal to review the adjustment transactions posted by the program for the reconciliation.
- (Optional) Delete inventory worksheets that you do not need, such as worksheets that contain only items that you do not want to post.
