Printing Bin/Shelf Labels
These instructions are for printing labels for the bins or shelves where you store items at your inventory locations.
To print labels such as price tags or bar codes labels that you can attach to items, use the I/C Item Labels report screen in the Stock Control Reports folder. For instructions on printing the report, see Printing Item Labels.
You can print bin or shelf labels to attach to the bins or shelves where you store inventory items.

- Find out which report
file to use for printing labels.
For example, you might have different labels for different stores, warehouses, or types of goods within your warehouse.

Run Day End Processing if you want to include the latest costing information on the labels.
To print bin/shelf labels:

Inventory Control > I/C Stock Control Reports > Bin/Shelf Labels.
- Make your selections for
the following fields:
Location. Select the location.
Currency. If you use multicurrency accounting, select the currency of the price list for which you want to print labels.
Use Label. Enter the name of the file, including the RPT file extension, that contains the format for the labels you want to print, or choose the default filename.
If you do not know the file name or the location of the file you want to use, click the Browse button to select from the list of your directories and files.
Price List. Select a price list for the labels.
Sort by. Specify the order in which to generate labels.
From [ ] to [ ]. Specify the range of item numbers, categories, segments, or optional field entries to include in the label run.
Note: To print a test sheet of labels to test the alignment of the forms in your printer, click the Align button. This button is available only if the printing destination is Printer.

Click Print.
- If you are printing to a physical printer, the Print window appears. Confirm your printer selection and the number of copies to print, and then click OK. Otherwise, click Cancel or Setup.
- If you are printing to the screen (preview), the report appears in a new window. You can print the report or export it to a file.
Note: For Web-based clients, the preview screen appears first when you click the Print button.

If you are printing to a file, the Export window appears. Specify the file format (for example, PDF, DOC, or XLS). Also, specify a destination for the file:
- Application. View the report in an application that can open files of the specified format (for example, if you specify PDF as the file format, the report opens in Adobe Acrobat). You can then save the file.
- Disk file. Save the report to a location you specify.
- Microsoft Mail. Send the report as an e-mail attachment.
You can enter the name of a non-existent file or directory to be created by the system when you print. When you print to a file, the report is assigned a unique name, for example, CS1000.TXT.
- If you are printing to e-mail, an e-mail message appears with the report attached.
