Enter or select the value that the program will display as the default for the optional field.
If the optional field you selected requires validation, you must select a value that is defined for the optional field on the Optional Fields screen in Common Services. However, if the optional field allows blanks, you can leave the default value field blank.
If the optional field does not use validation, you can do one of the following:
When you specify a value that is defined on the Optional Fields screen in Common Services, the program displays the description for the value.
Use this field to specify whether or not the optional field has a default value.
This column has two purposes:
Use the O/E Optional Fields screen to set up and review optional field entries for miscellaneous charges.
Before you can add optional fields to miscellaneous charges, you must assign the optional fields to the O/E Miscellaneous Charges screen using the O/E Optional Fields screen.
To add optional item fields that were not set as automatically inserted, click the Add Line button to add a new line to the grid, and then use the Optional Field field to specify the optional field.
Note: If an optional field is required, you cannot save the transaction unless the field has a default value, or until you fill in the field yourself.
