Open Order Entry > O/E Setup > Optional Fields.
On the Optional Fields For list, select a transaction type.
Select a detail line, and then click the Edit icon in the Settings column.

Note: This button is not available for miscellaneous charges, orders, order details, or shipments.

Fields and controls

Accounts Receivable

A/R Invoices Optional Fields

Passes information entered in a optional field to invoices in Accounts Receivable.

Available if you selected Invoices or Credit/Debit Notes.

Accounts Receivable Detail G/L Accounts

Damaged Goods

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Damaged Goods account in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Credit/Debit Note Details.

Miscellaneous Charges

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Miscellaneous Charges account in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Invoice Details or Credit/Debit Note Details.

Returns

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Returns account in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Credit/Debit Note Details.

Sales/Shipment Clearing/COGS

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Sales, Shipment Clearing, and Cost of Goods Sold accounts in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Invoice Details or Credit/Debit Note Details.

G/L Accounts

Cost Variance

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Cost Variance account in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Invoice Details, Shipment Details, or Credit/Debit Note Details.

Cr./Db. Note/Misc. Charge Clearing

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Credit/Debit Note and Miscellaneous Charge Clearing accounts in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Invoice Details, Shipment Details, or Credit/Debit Note Details.

Inventory Control/Misc. Charge Cost

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Inventory Control and Miscellaneous Cost accounts in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Credit/Debit Note Details.

Non-stock Clearing

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Non-stock Clearing account in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Shipment Details, Invoice Details, or Credit/Debit Note Details.

Shipment/Misc. Charge Clearing

Passes information entered in a optional field to the Shipment Clearing and Miscellaneous Charge Clearing accounts in General Ledger.

Available if you selected Shipment Details or Invoice Details.

Overview

Use the O/E Optional Fields Settings screen to select the G/L accounts and other subledgers to which Sage 300 sends the information entered in a optional field.

You can select these settings for the following transaction types and items/charges:

Credit notes (and credit note details)
Debit notes (and debit note details)
Invoices (and invoice details)
Shipment details

You cannot specify these settings for the following transaction types and items/charges:

Miscellaneous charges
Orders (and order details)
Shipments
