Note: G/L Account Permissions is part of G/L Security, an option that you select on the Account tab of the G/L Options screen. The G/L Account Permissions screen is available only after you select the Use G/L Security option.
After specifying account permissions for a user, click Test to test the account segments you have specified.
The G/L Permissions Finder lists only the accounts this user has permission to see and work with.
Select the ID of the user for which you want to add account permissions.
Use the Segment tab to allow or deny user access to ranges of account segments—for example, to restrict access to a particular department.
Select Yes to allow access to an account or range of accounts.
Generally, if the default access for General Ledger is All Accounts (on the Account tab of the G/L Options screen), select No in the Allow column to restrict account access.
If the default access is No Accounts, select Yes in the Allow column to allow access to a range of accounts.
Specify the range of segment codes for which to allow or deny access.
Select the segment for which you want to restrict or allow access.
You cannot select the Account segment here. Use the Account tab to specify a range of account numbers.
Use the Account tab to allow or deny user access to ranges of account numbers—for example, to allow access to Accounts Receivable sales accounts.
Select Yes to allow access to an account or range of accounts.
Generally, if the default access for General Ledger is All Accounts (on the Account tab of the G/L Options screen), select No in the Allow column to restrict account access.
If the default access is No Accounts, select Yes in the Allow column to allow access to a range of accounts.
Specify the range of account numbers for which to allow or deny access.
Use the G/L Account Permissions screen to define account access permissions for individual Sage 300 users.
Note: Depending on the Default Access setting (on the Account tab of the G/L Options screen), you use the G/L Account Permissions screen mainly to grant access to accounts, or to restrict access.
