Displays a sample item number that uses this item structure. The sample is updated every time you add a segment or make changes to the structure.
If you want, you can select a character from this list to appear at the front of the item structure.
Enter a code of up to six characters to identify the item structure.
Enter a description for the item structure.
Displays the total number of characters in this item structure. This number is updated each time you add a segment or make changes to the structure. A complete item number cannot contain more than 24 characters, including separator characters.
The table on this screen shows the segments that make up the item structure.
If you want to add a segment, click Add Line to add a line to the table. Add the segments in the order you want to use them in the item structure.
This column displays the number of characters assigned to the segment. (This is set on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen.)
In this column, select the name of the segment to use in the item structure.
In this column, you can select a character to appear at the end of the segment.
In item structures that use multiple segments, separator characters distinguish (visually) the segments from each other.

You can have as many item structures as you need to accommodate different item number formats. However, there must be at least one item structure in Inventory Control before you can add items.
Note: You create item structures from the segments that were set up on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen.
