Initially, this only displays the separator characters used in the structure code you selected. As you enter the value for each segment in the table, the values are added as they will appear in the item number. Check this number to be sure it is correct before you click Select.
Enter the structure code to use to construct the item number or click (the Finder button) and select the structure.
After you enter the structure code, the segments used in the structure automatically appear in the table.
Structure codes are defined on the I/C Item Structures screen.

After you select the structure code, this table displays the segments that make up the structure. You then enter the value for each segment to be used in the new item number.
If you entered a value that is a segment code defined on the I/C Segment Codes screen, this column displays the description of that segment code.
This column displays the number of characters required in each segment of the item structure. The value you enter in the Value column must be this length.
Segment lengths are specified on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen.
This column displays the name of each segment in the selected item structure.

This column displays the number assigned to each segment in the item structure.
Segment numbers are listed on the Items tab of the I/C Item Structures screen.
In this column, enter the value for each segment or click (the Finder button) and select a segment code to use for the value. The value you enter must match the length shown in the Length column.
Note: If a segment has Yes selected for Validate on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen, you must select a segment code that is defined on the I/C Segment Codes screen.
When you enter a value, the number shown for Item Number above the table is updated.
Use the Construct Item Number screen to construct the item number for a new item based on the item structure you select. You then enter values for each segment of the number.
You can click (the Finder button) and select a segment code for the value, which is required for validated segments.
Tip: When you enter a new item, use this screen to enter the new item number instead of typing the item number in the I/C Items screen and trying to remember the correct format of an item structure to use.
