Segment Name
Select the segment for which you want to add valid segment codes. The segments are set up on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen.
Table
The table on this screen shows the valid segment codes for the segment.
If you want to add a segment code, click Add Line to add a line to the table.
Segment Code
Enter a code that is valid for the selected segment.
The number of characters used for the segment code cannot be more or less than the length specified for the segment on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen.
Segment Description
Enter a description or name for the segment code.
Overview
You use the I/C Segment Codes screen to set up valid segment codes that can be used in item numbers.
The segments and their lengths are set up on the Items tab of the I/C Options screen. If the Validate option for a segment is set to Yes, item numbers using that segment must use one the valid segment codes.
Note: Adding segment codes is optional, as is using them once you have entered them.
