Deleting Items

You use the I/C Items screen to delete inventory items one at a time. (This is the same screen you use to add items to Inventory Control.)

Tip: Before trying to delete an item, it is a good idea to mark the item Inactive to ensure that no further transactions are posted to it. You can then wait until the end of the fiscal or calendar year to delete it (depending on the method you use to accumulate item statistics).

To mark an item inactive:

  1. Open Inventory Control > I/C Items and Price Lists > Items.

  2. In the I/C Items screen, enter the item number of the item you want to delete, or click the Finder button and select the item.
  3. Select the Inactive (as of) option.
  4. Click Save to save your changes.

To delete an unused item:

Note: Use this method to delete an item if you added it by accident or if you have not yet posted any transactions for the item:

  1. Open Inventory Control > I/C Items and Price Lists > Items.

  2. In the I/C Items screen, enter the item number of the item you want to delete, or click the Finder button and select the item.
  3. Click Delete.
