Cannot Access the Database Software

If you are using Microsoft SQL Server:

  1. Check ODBC Data Source definitions using ODBC Administrator. Ensure that the server name is correct.
  2. Check selected protocol by running SQL Client Configuration Utility (SQL Server Tools folder).
  3. Test your ability to communicate with the server by using ISQL/w.
    1. Start ISQL/w.
    2. Select database from drop-down list at top of dialog box.
    3. Enter the following SQL statement:

      select TABLENAME from DATADICT and execute

  4. Check the Sage 300 database profile by running the Sage 300 Database Setup utility. Make sure the correct information is specified for the databases.
