Viewing or Updating Licenses Using the License Manager

Use the License Manager screen to view details about your licenses, including serial numbers and activation codes, and to make changes to your licenses.

To view or update licenses:

  1. On the Sage 300 desktop, click Help > Licenses.
  2. On the Licenses screen, click License Manager.

    The License Manager screen appears.

  3. Use the tabs on the License Manager screen to view or enter information:
    • Click the License Information tab to edit the client ID, Licensed To person or entity, dealer, and CC (certified consultant or business partner).

To change the client ID, click the Change button beside the Client ID field, and then type the new client ID in the field. (When you next open the License Manager form, the Client ID field will be unavailable unless you click Change again.)

You also use this tab if you need to Closedchange the company name to which your Sage 300 software is registered.

To change the company name on the License Information tab, you click the Change button beside the Company field, and then type the new name in the field.

When you next open the License Manager form, the Company field will be unavailable, unless you click Change again.

Note: Activation codes are awarded for serial numbers and company names used together. After you change the company name, the activation code will be marked Unauthorized. The license will remain valid, but you should apply for another activation code for the new company name.

    • Click the Licenses tab to enter activation codes you have received for your registered software (Closedfor example, to update a temporary license with a permanent one).

During installation, the program creates temporary license files (with serial number “000000000000”) for Sage 300 Programs and LanPaks licenses.

Once you receive valid serial numbers and activation codes, you can enter them in the License Manager to make the licenses permanent.

You must enter information for each Sage 300 program in the following order: Serial Number and Activation Code.

Note: You require permanent licenses for the Analysis module in Sage 300 Intelligence Reporting and Sage 300 Intelligence Reporting Viewer. No temporary licenses are available for these programs.

    • Click the Users tab to enter activation codes for LanPak licenses, or to delete temporary licenses for databases that you do not use.

You must enter information for each LanPak user in the following order: License Type, Count, Serial Number, and Activation Code.

You also use this tab to record activation codes for additional licenses for Sage 300 Intelligence Reporting Report Manager and Sage 300 Intelligence Reporting Report Viewer. (For Sage 300 Intelligence Reporting, one Report Manager license for one user is free with Sage 300.)

  4. When you have finished viewing or entering information, click Close to return to the Licenses form.
  5. Click OK to return to the desktop.
